Harvest in the Pacific Northwest is a beautiful patchwork of ripe fruit reaching readiness in the orchards, mountains, across the coastlines and valleys of the region. This harvest-themed cider collection gathers a cornucopia of tastes, inviting you to discover Willamette Valley grown Honeycrisps in 19 Acres Imperial and hand-picked wild crab apples in their Smith & Wild. Cider adventures take new heights foraging in Washington’s conifer covered mountains for Greenwood Huckleberry and traveling along the Olympic Peninsula coastline to where Alpenfire’s Pirate’s Plank is grown in a maritime climate orchard. Seattle based Greenwood ferments Snoqualmie grown Kingston Black apples into a traditional single varietal cider. Harvest brings the community together in Montana’s Gallatin Valley near Bozeman, where a collection of apples are crafted into Lockhorn’s Backyard Bittersweet, a cider that gives back. 19 Acres
Imperial Apple 9% ABV (12 oz)
What do apples from a fourth generation farm taste like? 19 Acres Imperial answers with a robust, juicy profile that typifies the imperial cider style. At 9% abv, crafted like a big brother to their flagship Honeycrisp, this single varietal gets a gravity lifting boost from added sugar that ferments to a higher alcohol cider. Warming and oh, so easy-to-drink, this taste of the orchard from Oregon’s wine country fits like a favorite sweater on the first cool night of the season. Limited-release and seasonal, the bright bubbly texture keeps this semi-sweet crisp.
19 Acres
Smith & Wild 6.9% ABV (500 ml)
Smith & Wild is a labor of love. Crafted from hand-picked, crushed & pressed “wild” crab apples blended with Oregon Heritage Farms grown Granny Smith apples, this cider is dry with a tanic profile and a crisp finish. 19 Acres Cider, named for the unique Sherwood, Oregon property on which the tasting room resides, is a multi-generational McLennan family project, conceived to minimize waste on their farm and use their extensive knowledge (and love) for all things apple.
Greenwood Cider
Huckleberry 7.8% ABV (500 ml)
Not all cider harvest begins in the orchard. The elusive Mountain Huckleberry, iconic and loved for its bold flavor intensity with deep cultural and culinary regional roots, is carefully preserved in Greenwood Cider’s limited-release Huckleberry Cider. Found on high mountain slopes amidst the coniferous Pacific Northwest forests, huckleberry, still often foraged, clings to a sense of the wild. Balanced with a signature blend of WA apples, this fruit kissed cider offers a way to sip and savor the flavors of summer.
Alpenfire Cider
Pirate’s Plank 6.9% ABV (500 ml)
Pirate’s Plank is an ode to the rich maritime history, climate & culture of Alpenfire Cider’s hometown, Port Townsend. Fiercely aromatic bittersharp apples (Kingston Black, Yarlington Mill, Foxwhelp and Muscadet de Dieppe) come together in this award winning, organic estate cider. Slow fermentation, barrel maturation and bottle conditioning result in a dry cider with big round tannins, soft acidity and lively effervescence. Best served at cellar temp with hearty cheese and a sense of adventure.
Greenwood Cider
Kingston Black 9% ABV (500 ml)
Greenwood describes their Kingston Black single-varietal as, “a kick in the teeth in the best way.” Expressive of this quintessential, bittersharp cider apple and the terroir of Monte Vista Farm orchard near Snoqualmie, Washington, where the apples were grown, this slow sipping cider is complex, bitter and dry from start to finish. Seattle based Greenwood seeks out fruit statewide including foraged fruits and apples from homesteads and forgotten orchards, blending modern and traditional cidermaking. Enjoy this classic cider varietal with food!
Lockhorn Cider
Backyard Bittersweet 6.9% ABV (16 oz)
Apple harvest in Montana’s Gallatin Valley is cause for community celebration. An impressive 25,000 lbs of heirloom & crab apples have been harvested from backyards across the region the past few years. This fruit is carefully blended with bittersweet apple varietals by cidermakers at Lockhorn to craft the balanced, easy drinking, small-batch, seasonal Backyard Bittersweet cider. Lockhorn raises a glass in the big sky spirit, gifting 10% of this cider’s sales to local nonprofits.
